Big Red Oak Plantation
Overview
These shoots have been very popular since we started them in the 2000 hunting season. Pheasants are released from a 25 foot metal tower, constructed from the top portion of an old water tower, atop a hill varying in elevation from 40 feet on the east side to 20 feet on the west side. Shooting stations are positions in a circle around the tower, which is concealed from view by small trees and bushes. Shooters rotate around the tower after ten pheasants are released making different shots at each position. Variable winds make shooting extremely challenging.
