At McCullom Lake Hunt Club we have a larger pheasant than you will see at most clubs. Don't think the larger bird makes for an easier shot though because we pride ourselves on having a large, fast flying, and challenging birds. We do not "set" our birds, they are all free released. You will never find a dizzy bird in the field when hunting. Our pheasants are not pay on release or by reservation. Our members are free to come hunt when they want, hunt as long as they want, and harvest as many birds as they want. We have several different areas that our members can hunt in ranging from strips of sorghum to woods to lowland swamp areas. Experience Country hunting, not too far from the city Club hunting at Rogers' is an amazing experience. We are located only 2 hours from downtown Chicago in the pristine country north of Ohio and south of Dixon (Ronald Reagan's home town). We are 14 miles s of I-88 (the East-West Tollway), 16 miles north of Princeton (I-80) and directly across from the Green River Conservation area, 2800 acres that my dad used to run, which is now run by the State of Illinois. We are 90 miles due west of Chicago about a 2 hour drive. If you own your own dog you can hunt without a guide. We release a minimum of five birds, at the current price (see Season/Prices,) for no more than four hunters. You can start as early as 8am, but we recommend you have breakfast at the lodge before you start out. When you are ready to hunt, we will put out your birds in one of our fields and send you out on your hunt. You must have a dog to hunt and if you don't have your own, we offer guides/dogs. The hunt should take no more than four hours. We start our afternoon groups at 12pm (or after you eat a hearty lunch).
