You will be hunting on the same land that has been producing large numbers of pheasants for over 50 years. We have over two thousand acres of prime hunting land that has been cultivated with pheasants in mind. With this great habitat and row crops(Corn, Milo, and Cane), the wild ringneck has flourished on our land, making the hunting excellent.

The lodge sits on a 2,000 acre working farm and ranch located at Burke, South Dakota. Corn, sorghum, millet, and prairie combined with annually planted food plots, provides top-notch pheasant habitat.

Oakleys Outback has a shooting preserve license, so hunting season is extended from September 1st to March 30th, offering you the hunter more opportunities to shoot roosters in South Dakota. Wild Wings is family owned and operated pheasant hunting business located in Gregory County, South Dakota. My family started developing pheasant hunting in the 1940s when my grandfather won some federal awards for planting much needed tree groves designed specifically for pheasant hunting. After my grandfather passed on, my father spent his entire adult life planting trees groves each spring with that same goal. As a result of that work, our hunting properties are now full of tree groves that are split and/or surrounded by pheasant designed food-plots. Those food-pots are re-planted each spring, but never cultivated for farming purposes. Instead, those food plots are hunted but not harvested specifically so that our pheasants (and our neighbors pheasants) have a place to eat and survive throughout our brutally cold winters. In other words, my family has spent decades building some of the very best pheasant hunting you will ever find in South Dakota (or anywhere else). Our hunting fields are designed to be hunted by about 15 to 20 hunters. If you interested, we still have some hunting weekends available.
